Added: 25 January 2019
Kia Motors (UK) posted its best sales figures to date in 2018. 95,764 Kia models were sold in the UK last year, accounting for almost a fifth of all its sales across Europe.
Kia’s range of new, innovative and revamped models launched in the last two years has certainly contributed to its success in 2018 and ongoing into the coming year.
With three Chapelhouse Kia dealerships in Southport, St Helens and Warrington, we’re more than delighted to contribute to the manufacturer’s continuing popularity among UK drivers.
The new range of Crossovers, such as the Niro and Stonic, plus a higher emphasis on eco-friendly vehicles – both hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) – have seen Kia’s sales soar for the tenth consecutive year.
In fact, Kia saw a massive 36% increase in hybrid, PHEV and electric cars in the last twelve months.
The popularity of "green" vehicles is set to flourish, with the new Kia e-Niro all-electric zero emission crossover recently being voted as Car of the Year by What Car? magazine.
Emilio Herrera, Chief Operating Officer for Kia Motors Europe, said: The quality, design and character of our growing vehicle line-up have helped us consistently outperform the wider market.
“In 2018, we grew sales of the Niro and Stonic in particular, while new models such as the Ceed and Stinger, and the revitalised Sportage and Picanto ranges, have also attracted interest from quality-conscious drivers.
“2019 starts with the launch of the new ProCeed, and, later this year, additional new models and a broader range of electrified powertrains.”
This year will see a series of new Kia mild-hybrid, hybrid and PHEV models, as well as the launch of the new all-electric Soul SUV.
