Great Scott! The DeLorean EV Revealed!

Movie nerds and geeks alike should hold onto their glasses as the most famous car of the 1980s is making a comeback! DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) has revealed their upcoming DeLorean EV luxury car and it's complete with the gullwing doors that have become iconic!

The DeLorean EV Alpha 5 revives the 'Medusa' Sedan concept that the original company started developing before filing for bankruptcy in 1982. It will be an all-electric sports car that has been revealed in two colours and boasts a top speed of around 155mph with an acceleration rate of 0-88mph (get it?) in 4.35 seconds!

Using a design that takes inspiration from the original DeLorean, the DeLorean EV will feature two gullwing doors that reveal both the front and back seats of the 4-seater car and is targeting a 100kWh battery that should provide more than 300 miles of driving range and power a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive set-up.

DMC hasn't revealed all of the driving information yet but DMC is promising that the DeLorean EV will 'be a driver's car, bringing back the joy of driving.'

Though an official release date is yet to be announced, production is expected to start in Italy over the next couple of years with an official public release scheduled for June 1st at 5.00am followed by a formal showing at the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance car show on August 18.
