Kia announces XCeed facelift and introduction of GT-line
Kia Motors has unveiled the new-look XCeed, ready to hit Chapelhouse dealerships in September 2022.
Both the exterior and interior of the XCeed have received upgraded designs. Meanwhile, the popular compact crossover will have a top-of-the-range GT-line specification for the first time.
The GT-line model perfectly blends everything you'd want in a sports car with all the comforts you'd come to expect from an SUV.
A full range of powertrain options are now available on the XCeed, including petrol, hybrid, plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and diesel. Prices begin at £22,995 for the petrol model and £32,595 for the PHEV.
The low-emissions PHEV version can offer a fully electrified range of 48km, which equates to 60km of solely city driving. The diesel model is also available with mild-hybrid technology (MHEV), with the choice of six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch offering.
Sjoerd Knipping, Vice President of Marketing and Product at Kia Europe, heaped praise on the new XCeed design: “This new model builds upon the XCeed's unique combination of dynamic handling, everyday practicality and in-car technology with a series of new stylish exterior and interior design changes and new tech features.”
Since its original launch in 2019, the XCeed has been one of Kia's most popular cars. The crossover has accounted for 10% of all Kia's UK sales so far in 2022.
“A sporty alternative to the larger models, the XCeed has become the best-selling model in the wider Kia Ceed line-up. It provides the commanding driving position and comfort of an SUV with the dynamic handling and manoeuvrability of a compact European hatchback,” he added.
The new XCeed features enhanced LED headlamps and a revised grille and front bumper with innovative air intake design. The front fog lamps have been integrated into the headlights. This allows for air curtains on either side to guide air resistance smoothly around the 18-inch alloy wheels to reduce drag and improves fuel efficiency.
An edgy 'tiger nose' grille differentiates the GT-line from the regular XCeed spec, along with a sporty lower air intake and distinctive side bumper cladding that adds an extra air of aggression. Exciting new hexagonal LED taillights and a stylish body-coloured lower infuser are also extra additions.
On the inside, GT-line drivers are also treated to a higher standard of kit. A motorsport-inspired 'D-cut' steering wheel, black headliner, special GT-line seat design and a gear stick wrapped in perforated leather are all included.
As ever, the XCeed comes with Kia's industry-leading seven-year/100,000-mile warranty. Contact your nearest Chapelhouse Kia dealership in Southport, St Helens, or Warrington to enquire or book your test drive in the new Kia XCeed!
