Kia EV6 Leading the Charge in Electric Awards

The Kia EV6, Kia's first all-electric focused car, has been named 'Best Electric Car' for 2022 at the famous Autocar Awards, leading the way in electric motoring.

The Kia EV6 was also named 'Electric SUV of the Year' in Autocar's sister awards, the What Car? Awards.

The Kia EV6 is Kia's first EV dedicated long-range car. It combines design and innovation to show an all-electric car that's ideal for everyday luxury. It features fast charging and a driving range of over 300 miles with a charge time of only 18 minutes from 10 - 80%.

The EV6 sets the standard for future electric Kia cars and brings electric comfort and style to the real world. Combining SUV and sports car styling, it brings a strong presence to the road.

Mark Tisshaw, editor for Autocar commented 'With the EV6, Kia has eclipsed its natural rivals, and the car goes further than most rivals to make everyday motoring feel special. Aside from being an excellent electric car in its own right, the EV6 also represents Kia's coming of age.'

To win this award, the EV6 was tested by expert road testers alongside its rivals in a dedicated test facility and out on the roads,

This award is the latest in a string of accolades for the Kia Ev6 which recently won 'European Car of the Year 2022' and 'Car of the Year 2021'.

The EV6 wasn't the only car in the spotlight, the Kia Sorento SUV took home the coveted Autocar award for 2022. Town Car was presented in association with the Camping and Caravanning Club. The Kia Sorento boasts a bold design and is equipped with sophisticated features such as wireless charging and premium surround sound.

The Kia e-Niro won the 'Electric Car of the Year' award and 'Car of the Year' award back in 2019, defining Kia's journey in the EV space.

Kia's Sportage has also won several awards including Best Medium SUV from the Business Motoring Awards and Best Car for Towing from the Auto Trader New Car Awards.

On its journey toward all-electric, Kia has won multiple awards for its innovation and environmental considerations in its car development. In 2017, Kia UK was awarded the PHEV Manufacturer of the Year at this year's GreenFleet Awards and has since gone on to launch KiaCharge which provides the most comprehensive access to the UK public charging network.

To further cement its place in EV manufacturing, Kia invites its colleagues and customers to the Kia Electric Experience that will give exclusive access to the unveiling of the all-new Kia Niro EV along with access to the fully electric EV6 and the all-new Sportage, the striking SUV that launched earlier this year with Hybrid Electric Technology.

The EV6 is one of 14 EVs that Kia plans to launch globally by 2027 as the company positions itself as a sustainable mobility solutions provider.
