Kia reintroduces ‘GT-Line S’ Ceed and Proceed models

Kia has reintroduced its top of the range 'GT-Line S' specs to its Ceed and ProCeed models.

Back by popular demand, the five-door family hatchback Ceed and sporty shooting brake ProCeed now have a wider selection of specifications to choose from. The Ceed 'GT-Line S' is priced from £31,145, and the ProCeed 'GT-Line S' comes in slightly higher from £32,245.

The 'GT-Line S' variants of the Ceed family members feature a seven-speed double clutch transmission (DCT) as standard. The transmission is paired with Kia's popular 1.5-litre T-GDi (turbocharged gasoline direct injection) engine, producing a hefty 158bhp.

Equipped with the DCT, the ProCeed 'GT-Line S' can accelerate from 0-62mph in 8.6 seconds. The Ceed 'GT-Line S' powers to the same speed even quicker in just 8.4 seconds. The DCT has been developed by Kia with the aim of enhancing fuel efficiency and delivering comfort, whilst retaining the sportiness of a manual transmission car.

The DCT feature separates the 'GT-Line S' from the rest of the trim levels in the Ceed and ProCeed range. Each of the '2', 'GT-Line' and '3' levels of the Ceed, and the 'GT-Line' version of the ProCeed, feature a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.

Other excellent features that make the 'GT-Line S' trim stand out from the rest of the pack are 18-inch premium alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof with sliding function, black leather with suede seat upholstery, 12.3-inch supervision cluster display, paddle shifters and wireless mobile phone charger.

Kia New

The all-new Kia XCeed, which launched in 2022, now also has the option of the DCT gearbox for the first time. It extends the choice among the Ceed model family even further. The Kia XCeed 'GT-Line S' with DCT starts from £31,495.

The XCeed is the most popular member of the Ceed range - around half of all Ceed family sales have been the XCeed. It is also the only member of the Ceed family that has a Plug-in Hybrid version, which also has the capability to travel up to 30 miles of electric-only driving from a single charge.

The Kia Ceed family consists of the Ceed, Ceed Sportswagon, ProCeed and XCeed. The four cars accounted for almost 20% of all Kia new car sales in 2022. It was also the first time that Kia has sold over 100,000 new cars in the UK in a calendar year - an unprecedented achievement for the Korean manufacturer.
