MG Cyberster set to make European debut

MG has confirmed that its exciting new two-seat electric roadster, the Cyberster, will make its official European debut at IAA Mobility 2023. The motoring showcase takes place in Munich between 5th and 10th September. 

The Cyberster is the first all-out MG sports car to bear the famous badge in a generation. As you can see in the teaser video below, the Cyberster sports futuristic scissor doors, soft-top roof, and luxurious upholstery and interior.

Lucky visitors to this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed caught the first glimpse of the Cyberster, as it made its way up the iconic hill climb.

The eye-catching Cyberster is set to headline MG's strong presence at the IAA Mobility event and will be joined in Germany by the awesome MG4 XPOWER. Launched in July 2023, the XPOWER is the latest addition to the ever-growing MG EV range and is the most powerful MG production car ever. 

The XPOWER, which looks stunning in Racing Green, can produce 320kW (429 bhp). It also features 18-inch alloy wheels, orange brake callipers, and can storm from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds.

Jan Oehmicke, Vice President DACH of MG Motor Europe, said: “We look forward to welcoming everyone to the MG stand, where they'll be able to preview three of our most performance-focussed and exhilarating all-electric vehicles.” 

The third car which will join the Cyberster and the XPOWER is the MG Marvel R. The high-performance electric SUV features three motors and all-wheel drive.

While the Marvel R is currently only available to motorists on the continent, there have been rumours that it could reach the UK market in the not-too-distant future. 

“IAA Mobility 2023 is an ideal platform to connect with motorists and offer a glimpse into MG's exciting future, which features cars like the Cyberster, which will be with us next year,” added Oehmicke. 

What's certain is that the Cyberster will go on sale in the UK in the summer of 2024 - marking 100 years since the birth of the MG brand.
