The new tech upgrades incorporate two prominent 12.3-inch HD displays. The central touchscreen display is dedicated to infotainment, where you can control your music, climate and navigation services. Weather, live traffic alerts, access to Amazon Music and smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is all included.
The second digital display has its own unique layout, with three separate modes: Map, Digital and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
The new HS Trophy is comprehensively more equipped than the outgoing model. Further advancements include new 19-inch Diamond Cut alloy wheels, front fog lamps, heated electric folding door mirrors, power tailgate, 360° surround view camera, 8-speaker audio system, and wireless smartphone charging.
The boot capacity in the all-new HS has also been increased by 44 litres to a maximum of 507L, giving you that extra luggage space, while the wider cabin allows for a greater feeling of comfort and more relaxed ambiance.
HS PHEV
The hybrid system in the all-new HS PHEV has also received a significant upgrade, meaning better fuel economy and lower carbon emissions than the previous Plug-In Hybrid HS.
The PHEV powertrain now combines a larger 154kW electric motor with a new-generation turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine. The motor draws its power from a large 24.7 kWh battery and high efficiency 67kW generator.
This powerful new hybrid system now allows for up to a range 75 miles of electric-only driving, giving you greater freedom in city centre low emissions zones.
Both manual and automatic versions of the new HS are available, in the shape of a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, or an optional 7-speed DCT automatic. The HS PHEV SE starts from just £31,495, with the top spec Trophy model at £33,995.
David Allison, Head of Product and Planning at MG Motor UK, comments: “The outgoing HS SUV has been immensely popular. However, the new SE and Trophy models raise the bar with even more equipment and functionality, a distinctive MG appearance that sets the HS apart from other SUVs and a choice of advanced petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrains. This strong MG all-rounder is now adding even more to its game.”
