MG unveils the all-new MG3

MG has finally revealed the design of the all-new MG3! After many hints and teasers, the all-new MG3 got its full unveiling at the 2024 Geneva Motor Show, and is MG's first car to use a full hybrid powertrain.

The sporty hatchback uses a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, which had been given the tag of Hybrid+. Combined power output for the all-new MG3 comes in at 192bhp, with up to 250 Nm of torque.

Completing the Hybrid+ system is a 1.83kWh battery and electric motor, which also allows the all-new MG3 to travel short distances on electric power alone for added fuel economy.

The exterior design takes aspects from the fully electric MG4 and Cyberster, with its sleek, sportier new look and sharper LED headlights. The redesigned front grille reaches across the front-end with a large chrome MG badge prominently on the nose.

At the rear, boot space has increased slightly compared to the outgoing model - from 285 to 293 litres - thanks to the new longer and wider body dimensions.

The interior design borrows heavily from the stylish MG4 EV, with its dual floating instrument and infotainment screens, D-shaped steering wheel, and three-speed automatic gear wheel on the centre console.

The all-new MG3 comes in two trim levels - SE and Trophy - in line with the rest of MG's new car range.

The SE entry level model comes with a generous tech level, including the 7-inch digital instrument cluster screen, 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, Sat Nav, four USB ports, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rear parking sensors and reversing camera. MG Pilot - MG's package of driver assistance systems - also comes as standard.

Jump up to the Trophy level to add leather-style upholstery, keyless entry, heated front seats and full 360-degree camera.

Be sure to check back as MG is expected to release further details in March, including full pricing list and release date.
