MG4 EV - coming this September!

Chapelhouse MG is excited to announce the latest details regarding the brand new MG4 EV, which is due to go on sale in the UK in September 2022.

The MG4 EV will be the first MG model to use the innovative Modular Scalable Platform (MSP). This state-of-the-art battery platform will be the base that underpins the next generation of MG vehicles.

The MSP is specifically designed to maximise battery efficiency in electrified vehicles, with a concerted effort to reduce weight, and allow scalable range and performance for a wide variety of customer requirements.

David Allison, Head of Product & Planning at MG Motor UK, said: “The MG4 EV is a key part of the next phase of growth for MG. Our new MSP architecture will enable us to offer multiple options for the rapidly expanding UK electric car market, with all choices reinforcing our reputation for outstanding design, market-leading technology, and excellent value for money.”

The MG4 EV will be available with battery capacities from 51kWh to 64kWh, meaning it is capable of a range of up to 281 miles on the WLTP cycle. It also has an incredible amount of interior and luggage capacity, with a bold new rear-wheel drive platform that allows 50:50 weight distribution and enhances the driving experience massively.

The MSP will be used on a variety of future MG models, including hatchbacks, SUVs and sports cars - suitable for wheelbase ranging from 2,650mm to 3,100mm. MG's progressive new strategy when designing its new platform allows integration with future technologies, including battery swap systems, while the Service-Oriented Architecture will enable vehicles to receive Over-The-Air updates throughout their lifecycle.

The MG4 EV joins the ZS EV and the MG5 EV Sportswagon in the range of MG's fully-electric vehicles.
