MG4 versus EV market rivals
September 2022 saw the launch of the brand new MG4 EV - MG's newest fully electric vehicle to hit the UK market.
With a sharp, futuristic design and an excellent driving range, we're going to have a look at how MG's latest EV compares with some of its main competitors in the EV market.
First off, let's take a closer look at the brand new MG4 EV.
The MG4 EV is MG's first fully electric hatchback. It is also the first MG model to be built upon its innovative Modular Scalable Platform (MSP). It is specifically designed to maximise battery efficiency while minimising weight for a sleeker driving experience. This state-of-the-art battery platform will underpin the next generation of MG's electric vehicles.
Three trims are available. The SE Standard starts at just £25,995. There is also the SE Long Range, and the top spec Trophy Long Range edition. You have the choice of six distinctive colours - including the very popular Volcano Orange. And, of course, all models come with MG's industry-leading 7-year warranty plan for ultimate peace of mind.
The MG4 EV joins the MG5 EV and the MG ZS EV in its growing roster of fully electric cars.
MG4 EV vs Volkswagen ID.3
We put the MG4 up against the VW ID.3. Find out which electric hot hatch came out on top.
MG4 vs ID.3In an exciting development for EV technology, the MG4 EV doesn't require a key or a Start button. Simply press the brake and your MG4 EV is ready to drive away. It's that simple!
Another cool feature for the MG4 EV is MG's new iSMART app. Download from your preferred app provider, whether it's Apple or Android, and you can control and monitor several aspects of the MG4 EV.
You can keep tabs on how much the MG4 EV battery has charged, find your nearest charge point, or even pre-start the on-board Climate Control. Start the Air Conditioning on a warm summer's day or put the heater on during winter so it's nice and toasty ready for your journey to begin. All these features are just a fingertip away.
If you compare that to some of its market EV competitors, the MG4 EV blows them out of the water. The Vauxhall Mokka Electric can only achieve a modest 203 miles in comparison, while the Nissan Leaf has a maximum range of 239 miles.
The only true competition for the MG4 EV on driving range is the Cupra Born. This hatchback EV has a top range of 343 miles - but still can't quite match that of the outstanding MG4 EV.
The MG4 EV SE Long Range is just £28,495 at Chapelhouse MG - extraordinary value for money.
The MG4 EV - with its striking design, bundles of tech and amazing affordability - is now at Chapelhouse MG dealerships in Southport, St Helens, Wigan and Bolton.
