The MG Cyberster arrives in London

MG has showcased a pre-production design model of its brand-new all-electric sports car, the Cyberster. It arrived in the UK for the first time at MG's design headquarters in Marylebone, London.  

The Cyberster is the first all-electric sports car by MG. It also marks the return to the sports car roots of the brand.  

This will be the first sports car of any kind to bear the famous marque in over 30 years. 

The roadster pays homage to the famous MG two-seaters of years gone by. But it also looks ahead to the brand's future with its fully electric drivetrain.  

MG has yet remained tight-lipped on concrete details regarding pricing, performance and electric driving range. However, we can confirm that the Cyberster will hit UK showrooms in the summer of 2024 - permission to get excited! 

The London design studio, led by Advanced Design Director Carl Gotham, played a pivotal role in the development of the Cyberster. He said: “It is a special moment for us all who have played a part in designing this unique car. 

“The Cyberster will offer MG customers a striking, all-electric roadster, which will be as exciting as MG sports cars of the past.” 

The Cyberster's stand-out styling draws inspiration from MG's heritage. These signature design highlights include a distinctive long bonnet, low nose, and curvaceous surfaces. 

Exciting new features of the high-performance EV are the Kammback rear design and yoke steering wheel. What are certain to turn heads most are the stunning scissor doors that open vertically. 

MG has released a short film detailing the development of the Cybterster. From initial hand-drawn designs, via CGI concepts, and right through to the highly anticipated unveiling of the physical model.

MG has been the fastest growing car maker in the UK for the last two consecutive years. This has been largely thanks to the high quality and affordability of its EV range. These include the MG4 EV hot hatch, the spacious ZS EV SUV, and the luxurious MG5 EV estate car.
