Carwow names JAECOO is its ‘Brand of the Year’

JAECOO has been named as Carwow's 'Brand of the Year' in its Car of the Year Awards 2026! 

This is an outstanding achievement for the Chinese manufacturer, having only launched less than a year ago in the UK market. Since then, the popularity of the premium JAECOO 7 SUV has skyrocketed and is now firmly one of the most popular new cars for car buyers in the UK. 

Mat Watson, Car Review Expert at Carwow, couldn't praise JAECOO highly enough: “JAECOO feels like it's been selling cars in the UK for no more than five minutes, yet it's taken the market by storm. 

“It's already nipping at the heels of the best-sellers and the JAECOO 7 SUV has topped enquiries charts on the Carwow website,” he continued. “No wonder - JAECOO cars look cool, pack loads of standard equipment and yet cost far less than alternatives from European, Japanese or Korean brands.”

In September 2025, the JAECOO 7 had a huge 6,489 new registrations, making it the fourth most popular car in the country that month according to SMMT data. The following month, the J7 continued to outsell rivals such as the Nissan Qashqai and Volkswagen Tiguan and was hot on the heels of the Nissan Juke. 

The J7 has since been joined by the compact JAECOO 5, displaying the same quality stylings, cutting-edge tech, and competitive pricing as its bigger brother. The one point of difference is that J5 offers a fully electric version, whereas the J7 has petrol and plug-in hybrid options.
