Kia Sportage is the best-selling car in 2024 so far

The Kia Sportage has been named as the UK's best-selling car in January 2024, selling 4,239 units of the popular SUV, according to the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). 

Kia also ended the month as the third best-selling car brand, with 10,207 sales in the UK across the month.

Over 50% of Kia's sales in the UK were Eco models - fully electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid. The Sportage offers drivers a choice of eco-friendly models, including PHEV, HEV and MHEV. 

Kia launched its Power On Event at the start of the year, with big incentives on its Eco range, including low APR and two years free servicing!

January also saw the first sales of the new flagship Kia EV9. Kia's first seven-seat EV joined the Niro EV, EV6 and Soul EV in its fully electric lineup. The Niro EV ended the month as the sixth best-selling electric car overall, in an increasingly competitive segment.

Kia has hit the ground running in 2024. The brand won four awards at the 2024 What Car? Awards at the start of the year, following on from record-breaking sales figures in 2023! 

Among the winners was the all-conquering Sportage, which was named as the 'Best Family SUV' for the second successive year. Other winners included the EV6 being named 'Best Family Electric SUV', 'Best Electric 7-Seater' for the EV9, and the 'Tow Car Award' for the Kia brand as a whole.
