Suzuki achieves 25 million domestic sales in India

The Suzuki Motor Corporation hit a major milestone recently with its subsidiary in India, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, achieving 25 million cumulative domestic sales.

The landmark 25 millionth sale occurred on 9th January 2023 - almost 40 years since Maruti Suzuki rolled out its first car, the Maruti 800, in December 1983.

15 million of those car sales have been since February 2012, which shows the increasing popularity of Maruti Suzuki in India.

Since 1983, Maruti Suzuki has been providing cars to meet the changing mobility demands and has introduced iconic brands like the Alto, WagonR and Swift into the Indian market.

Maruti Suzuki currently has 17 models that are produced and sold in India and is currently strengthening its portfolio by bringing SUV models to its 3,500+ new car sales outlets. The manufacturer is also making efforts to popularise hybrid and CNG models. The cumulative units of hybrid and CNG models is approximately 2.1 million units.

Maruti Suzuki will continue to provide products marked with safety, high reliability, and eco-friendliness, and contribute to sustainable development of the automobile industry.
