The MG Marvel R - The Latest in MG Technology
Marvel at the new MG Marvel R, successor to the Marvel X and the newest and most luxurious electric vehicle to join the MG family.
This would be the next step up from the MG HS Plug-In Hybrid and the MG ZS EV, MG's all-electric car, both currently on sale in the UK.
With a sporty design and calibration, this Electric SUV is not only good to look at but boasts fast acceleration and the most cutting edge EV technology to back it up.
Available in 3 types, Comfort, Luxury and Performance, this is the largest MG SUV in the MG range. There is plenty of space for the whole family as the Marvel R has a 357-litre boot and a 150-litre front trunk or 'frunk'.
Safety
The Marvel R boasts 15 safety features as standard. This includes basic features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Intelligent High Beam Control and a Drowsiness Warning system.
More advanced features include Traffic Jam Assistance, Lane Keep Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring.
The Exterior
The exterior sees 18 or 19-inch alloy wheels and an intelligent welcome system that will turn on the LED headlights and set up the wing mirrors.
The car is finished with futuristic front and rear LED lights and a panoramic sunroof that has become iconic on MGs larger models. All on a all on a chassis designed to look sleek but sporty.
The Interior
The interior was designed with maximum comfort, luxury and enjoyment in mind. It boasts a part leather interior with contrast stitching and a sporty seat design. There is also the added option for heated and ventilated front seats.
The interior layout is SURROUNDED with ambient mood lighting throughout the spacious cabin that can be altered via the touchscreen console.
It is completed with 9 Bose speakers so your Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring will sound crisp and clear on any journey.
Comfort
The Marvel R will include advanced driver aids as standard such as privacy glass. It also offers a 6-way adjustable driver seat for maximum comfort and memory.
There is an all-digital 12.3-inch digital cluster display for a better driving experience and intelligent interaction.
The Marvel R will be the first MG car to include MGs all-new iSmart infotainment software. It offers a host of connected features, all displayed beautifully on a crisp 19.4-inch vertical, gorilla glass touchscreen display. Positioned on the centre console, it can be controlled by voice for streaming music, finding places of interest and vehicle control.
Technical
The MG Marvel R has a 250 miles WLTP range and can be charged from 5-80% in 43 minutes and 30%-80% in 30 minutes. The performance model sees a 0-60 in 4.9 seconds while lower models see a slower acceleration of 0-60 in 8.9 seconds.
The Marvel R offers rear-wheel drive in both the Comfort and Luxury options and all-wheel in the Performance option. The Performance option also boasts an extra motor on the front axle for acceleration but this is at the cost of the front trunk space.
Another nifty feature is the capability of Vehicle to Load System (V2L). This allows small electric appliances such as electric bikes to be charged using the cars battery power.
There is currently no exact date on when the MG Marvel R is expected to arrive in the UK due to alterations needed for right-hand drive. When it does arrive in the UK, it is sure to be at a great price! The top of the range Performance model is expected to be around £40,000.
