MG reaches landmark 100,000 EV sales in the UK
13/11/25
MG recently reached the impressive landmark of selling its 100,000th electric car in the UK. The all-important milestone sale came on 31st October 2025.
MG is one of the most popular car brands in the UK today, and the making of this historic achievement has had a huge part to play. Now Chinese-owned, MG has historically been the quintessential British sportscar manufacturer, celebrating the centenary of its world-famous marque in 2024. Today, MG builds on its storied heritage as a leading force in electric vehicles, designing and delivering affordable and efficient EVs to customers right across the UK.
“We're proud that MG has played a meaningful role in driving the growth of electric mobility in the UK and supporting the nation's Net Zero ambitions,” said Guy Pigounakis, Commercial Director of MG Motor UK.
“Reaching 100,000 EV sales is a major achievement for our brand and a reflection of the trust our customers place in us. We will continue to expand our lineup with even more choice, even more value, and advanced technology that makes electric driving accessible to all.”

The MG electric roster is currently made up of six state-of-the-art electric cars: MG4 EV, MG4 XPOWER, MGS5 EV, MG IM5, MG IM6, and the flagship roadster, the MG Cyberster. Each one has its own distinct identity and offers something unique to drivers in the ever-growing EV market. The recently announced MGS6 EV is soon to join the lineup, giving the choice of a larger electric SUV option compared to the MGS5.
Back in 2019, MG launched the first edition of its debut fully electric car - the MG ZS EV. A popular and practical SUV, the ZS EV was an ideal choice for families looking to make the switch to emissions-free motoring. It was soon followed by the MG5 EV - a pet-friendly electric estate car with an innovative long-range battery and spacious cabin. No longer sold as new, these reliable MG cars still represent excellent value as electric used cars.
The development of the MG's Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) then allowed for increased battery power and extended driving ranges, without compromising on space, plus the option of battery replacement.
The launch of the MG IM5 and IM6 in 2025 showcased MG's ability to produce outstanding performance and cutting-edge technology in these two premium electric cars. The new Hurricane Motor that powers the IM5 and IM6 offers a hair-raising 751bhp!
MG's pioneering battery technology extends to its hybrid range too, offering extra efficient versions the popular the MG3, MG ZS and MG HS models. In fact, according to SMMT data, the MG ZS Hybrid+ was the UK's best-selling hybrid car in the first half of 2025!
All new MG cars, whether they're petrol, hybrid or electric, are backed by a comprehensive 7-year/80,000-mile manufacturer warranty for added peace of mind.
