MG4 EV named ‘EV Breakthrough of the Year’

The MG4 EV has continued its impressive run of awards by being named the 'EV Breakthrough of the Year' at the prestigious Fleet News Awards in London. 

BBC news presenter Huw Edwards was on hand at the ceremony at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, to present representatives from MG Motor UK with the prize. 

Fleet News lauded MG's newest and hottest electric hatchback as a “true driver's car”, praising its winning combination of excellent range and affordable price point. 

The MG4 starts at just £26,995, and when fully charged it offers over 300 miles of pure electric driving. 

The MG4 proves that electric cars can be affordable and practical to businesses looking to make the switch from traditional petrol and diesel powered vehicles for their fleet and company cars. In fact, the MG4 was crowned the 'Car of the Year' and 'Small Electric Car of the Year' by Company Car & Van for 2023. 

The Fleet News expert judging panel said: “MG is changing the game in the electric vehicle sector by bringing down the entry level price point with usable real-world range. Yet the MG4 is anything but entry level - drivers love it and evangelise about their experiences, making the car a viable alternative to true premium rivals.” 

The MG4 EV also picked up second award on the night, being named by Fleet News as the 'Best Lower Medium Car'.

These latest wins come hot on the heels of the MG4 being named 'Overall Car of the Year' at the UK Car of the Year Awards. The MG4 is now well into double figures for major motoring awards since its launch in September 2022.
