The seven-seat Sorento range features both highly efficient hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, supporting Kia's drive for a more sustainable future.

The new Sorento PHEV comes with a 1.6-litre T-GDi engine with a 13.8kWh battery, paired with six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (AWD) as standard. The Sorento Hybrid features the same engine as the PHEV, but with a 1.49kWh battery and a choice of front-wheel drive (FWD) or AWD.

The new Sorento retains a diesel option too. The 2.2-litre diesel engine is coupled with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and available with FWD or AWD.

The new Sorento has an updated exterior design, including a bold new bonnet with a more defined silhouette. The vertical headlights and star map daytime running lights design has been borrowed from the EV and sees the Kia badge relocated to the top of the bonnet from the grille. Said grille has a new 3D mesh design too.

A new lower bumper is designed to exude extra confidence and robustness, with a wide skid plate, redesigned fog lamps and vertical air intake, underlining a strong and technical image.

A refreshed taillight design, with diagonal LEDs, features on the rear of the new Sorento. It's joined by vertical star map graphics, created by connecting two distinct taillights. The slim LED high-mounted brake light gives off a high-tech, high-class look, while the updated rear bumper and exhaust projects a more rugged impression.

The new Sorento comes with the choice of three new exterior colour options, adding to the seven currently available. Volcanic Sand, Interstellar Grey and Cityscape Green (also offered on the Niro EV and PHEV), join Clear White, Snow White Pearl, Aurora Black, Silky Silver, Gravity Blue, Steel Grey, and Mineral Blue.

In addition, there are also three new alloy wheel grades available on the new Sorento: 18”, 19” and 20-inches. The 18- and 20-inch alloy wheels come with the internal combustion engine (ICE) versions, while the 19-inch wheels are available on all models.

On the inside, the new Sorento's panoramic dimensions create a sense of width. This horizontal image is further emphasised with the application of subtle interior mood lighting throughout and across the dashboard.

The gearshift has been redesigned, while a black headliner, metal pedals and panoramic sunroof all give the new Sorento a technical and modern edge.

New front relaxation seats have been introduced into the cabin for maximum comfort, along with a Driver Ergo Motion seat with air-cell lumbar support and power adjustable bolster support. The option of memory function seats is also available. As with the current version of the Sorento, the third-row seats will fold independently of each other.

Cloth upholstery in the outgoing Sorento has been replaced by artificial leather and materials using 100% recycled plastic, as part of Kia's move towards more sustainable production. The heated steering wheel is trimmed with artificial leather too.

Upgraded driver assistance systems in the new Sorento include Highway Drive Assist 2.0, with Lane Change Assist and Surround View Monitor with 3D view function.

The Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist feature has also been upgraded to include Junction Turning and Crossing and Evasive Steering Assist. The brand new Away Close Tailgate feature provides even more convenience, closing the boot automatically once the driver leaves the detection area behind the new Sorento.

As with all Kia models, the new Sorento comes with Kia's industry-leading 7-year/100,000-mile warranty plan as standard.
