Suzuki Swift and Ignis top Small Car League for reliability

Suzuki is celebrating the Swift and Ignis being named top in their respective categories in the 2023 WhatCar? Reliability Survey. 

Over 21,000 readers of the motoring publication reported back on their own ownership experiences on cars up to five years old. They were surveyed on whether their car had suffered any faults over the past two years, how long they took to be fixed, as well as how costly any repairs were.

Of the 32 car brands measured, and across 178 different models, the Suzuki Swift ranked no.1 in the small car league table with an almost perfect score of 99.5%.

Just 4% of Swift drivers reported any faults with their cars, with all remedial work carried out and completed within a day - and best of all, free of charge! 

The Suzuki Ignis also ranked top of the small SUV category as the most dependable in its class. The Ignis, with its compact SUV styling, scored another very high score of 99.4% for reliability.

The rugged Suzuki Vitara also featured in the top ten, alongside the Ignis, with a highly respectable result of 96.7%.

“Owners of both models told us they suffered very few faults and those that did occur were dealt with quickly for free.”

Suzuki is so confident of its bulletproof reliability rating that it introduced its Service Activated Warranty plan in 2023. 

This is offered when a Suzuki car reaches the end of its standard 3-year/60,000-mile manufacturer warranty period. The Service Activated Warranty offers you a further 12-month warranty package when your car is serviced within the Suzuki Dealer network. 

Once those 12 months are up, you can simply renew the deal with the next qualifying service, up to a vehicle age of seven years or 100,000 miles on the clock - whichever comes first.
