Double award win for Suzuki Swace

The Suzuki Swace has been named 'Best Family Car of the Year' and 'Best Hybrid Car of the Year' at the 2023 Scottish Car of the Year Awards. 

Members of the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW) assembled their casting votes for the best new cars on the market, following 12 months of intensive test programmes. 

The Suzuki Swace underwent a model upgrade in 2023, contributing to its double success. The Swace Motion and Ultra models were launched, offering an even higher level of standard spec. 

Alisdair Suttie is the President of the ASMW. Of the 'Best Family Car' prize, he commented: “The Suzuki Swace left the judges wondering if there was anything this fantastic estate couldn't do as a family car. It's roomy, has large boot space, plenty of safety tech, and it's great to drive. 

“The Swace is also economical, well built, and fits in with family life perfectly to make it a superb winner in this category.”

The mid-sized, full hybrid estate car offers drivers excellent efficiency, space, and versatility combined with dynamic styling. The model upgrade also included a big increase to the electric motor output, from 53kW to 70kW, meaning a speedier 0-62mph time of 9.4 seconds - down from 11.1s. 

Suzuki's powerful hybrid technology combines high efficiency and low carbon output. The Swace can achieve a hefty 62.7mpg with CO2 emissions of just 102g/km.

The entry level Swace Motion boasts Emergency Electric Driving Stop system, LED rear lamps, seven airbags, Dual Zone automatic air conditioning, eight-inch LCD colour information screen, heated front seats and heated steering wheel. 

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, rear parking camera, new digital instrument cluster and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control are all also included as standard. 

Upgrade to the Ultra trim level for added Bi-LED projector highlights, Safe Exit Assist, Smart Door locking, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, interior ambient lighting, and wireless smartphone charging.
